Foreign portfolio investors bought domestic stocks worth of Rs 2,026 crore on Friday.

According to proposal, a Liquidity Coverage Ratio i.e LCR an authoritarian one would be introduced in all deposit-taking Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and non-deposit taking shadow banks with an asset size of Rs 5,000 crore and above in a phased manner.

Stocks such as Adani NSE 2.78 per cent Enterprises, Adani Ports and Adani Gas and select companies such as ZEEL, BHEL NSE 2.83 per sent, GAIL, OIL India, RCom, Inter Globe Aviation, HAL, Emami, OMAXE, Future Enterprises, UshaMartin, Thomas Cook is inattention as they are slated to report their March quarter results today. 

In the 30-pack Sensex, 20 stocks were in the Positive while 10 were Down. 

NTPCNSE 5.23 per cent was the biggest gainer and jumped nearly 4 % after it posted a 48.7 % rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 4,350.32 crore for the March quarter compared period before mainly on the back of lower expenses. 

Other gainers were Tata Steel (up 2.70 %), Yes Bank (up 2.05 %), SBINSE 0.75 per cent (up 1.55 %) and M&M (up 1.30 %). 

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel was the biggest loser, down 1.68 %. Amongst other losers were IndusInd (1.00 %), Asian Paints (down 0.88 %), RIL (down 0.83 %), ONGC (down 0.40 %) and Kotak Bank (down 0.36 %). 

BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices rose, 0.67 % and 0.86 %, respectively 

In the sectoral space, BSE Power was the biggest gainer rising 2.18 %, led by NTPC and Powergrid NSE 1.40 per cent while BSE Energy was the biggest loser, down 0.55 %. 

MSCI's index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan added 0.1 %. Japan's Nikkei climbed by 0.2 %.
