The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading flat at 965.12
Telecom shares were trading with gains in Friday's afternoon session.
Shares of GTL ( ⇑ 5.45 %), Sterlite Technologies ( ⇑ 2.60 %), Vodafone Idea NSE 2.65 per cent ( ⇑ 2.49 %) and ITINSE 1.40 per cent ( ⇑ 1.74 %) were the top performer today.
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) ( ⇑ 1.42 %), Bharti Infratel ( ⇑ 1.42 %), Himachal Futuristic Communications ( ⇑ 1.33 %) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam ( ⇑ 1.24 %) too were higher.
Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 101.30 pnts at 11,133.75 while the BSE Sensex was up 324.27 pnts at 37,651.63.
Among 50 stocks in the Index Nifty, 36 were trading positive, while 14 were in Negative.
Most traded shares on the NSE were Shares of Avenue Supermarts, Indiabulls Housing Finance, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NBCC, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Dilip Buildcon, Indiabulls RE and JSPL.
