Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (⇮ 2.18% ), Colgate-PalmoliveNSE 1.72 % (India) (⇮ 1.33 %), United BreweriesNSE 1.32 % (⇮ 1.32 %) and Tata Global Beverages (⇮ 1.18 %) were the top gainers in the index.
United Spirits (up 0.97 %), Hindustan Unilever (⇮ 0.78 %), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (⇮ 0.70 %) and Dabur India (⇮ 0.67 %) too were trading higher.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.67% ⇮ at 30,620.95 around.
Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 63.35 pnts at 11,368.40 while the BSE Sensex was up 215.42 pnts at 38,342.50.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
