The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.81% up at 2002.34.
Shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 10 %) , Tata PowerNSE 4.39 percent Company (up 4.30 %) , Adani TransmissionNSE 6.21 percent (up 3.36 %) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 2.70 %) were trading with gains.
Siemens (up 2.22 %) , NHPC (up 1.95 %) , ABB India (up 1.69 %) and Torrent Power (up 0.87 %) also trading higher.
Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 55.65 pnts at 11,644 while the BSE Sensex was up 198.08 pnts at 39,161.92.
Among the Nifty 50 stocks, 30 were trading green, while 19 were trading red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Infosys, NCC, RBL Bank, Tata Motors, NBCC, BHEL and Equitas Holdings were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
