Shares of Welspun Corp NSE 2.97 percent (⇑ 3.45 %) , Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (⇑ 1.19 %) , Hindalco Industries (⇑ 0.88 %) , Hindustan Zinc (⇑ 0.73 %) , APL Apollo Tubes (⇑ 0.46 %) , JSW Steel (⇑ 0.13 %) and VEDL (⇑ 0.1 %) were among the top gainers.
While NMDC Ltd (⇓ 3.35 %) , MOIL (⇓ 1.14 %) , Tata Steel (⇓ 0.73 %) , Hindustan Copper (⇓ 0.59 %) , National Aluminium Company (⇓ 0.56 %) , Coal India (⇓ 0.36 %) , Steel Authority of India (⇓ 0.2 %) and Jindal Steel & Power (⇓ 0.18 %) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.1 % ⇓ at 2686.0 around 10:45 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was down 36.50 pnts at 12101.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 126.93 pnts at 41179.10.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
